Oak Hall Relays Info

We have our first meet this Friday and are very excited. It is for varsity level athletes and will be at Oak Hall School. 

Please remember that the $100 fair share fee is due before this meet!

For JV Cross Country runners we are up to about ten folks to park cars for Gator Nationals and need ten more (please see the post below).

Here are the details for the Oak Hall meet:

• There will be a bus to the meet but all athletes need to be picked up from Oak Hall at the end of the meet-there is not return bus to PKY.

• Athletes should plan to to stay until the last PKY event is done to cheer on the squad.
  

• Event schedule: 4:30pm 4x1600 relay, Long Jump, High Jump, Discus and Shot Put

• 6:30pm: 4x100, Distance medley,4x200, 4x800, Sprint Medley, 4x400

• Admission: $4 Adults / $2 Students full concessions will be available

• There are unlimited entries in the relays so it may take awhile to get events done

• Athletes competing: Coaches will let athletes know if they are competing at practice this week-if your child is a varsity level athlete they are competing

• There will be practice for distance runners and pole vaulters  on Saturday 2/27 10:00 am at GHS (not UF)-Throwers, sprinters and jumpers are off Saturday.

Gator Nationals Cross Country Parking Fundraiser Information

If your students athlete is also a cross country runner now is the time to start signing up for our annual Gator Nationals Parking Fundraiser. 

We will be parking cars on Friday March 12 from 5:00am to around 11:00am.

Kathy Olmos (Marta and Ema’s mom) and Michele Shank (Paige’s mom) are our wonderful parent coordinators this season.

If you and your child are able to work Gator Nationals you will receive the following benefits:

• Cross Country Fair Share fee is considered paid in full
• Free entry into the races after you park cars
• Help out team raise $1,000
  

We need at least 20 people to get the money. We also like to have at least one adult per two students to make sure that none of our student car parkers are ever away from a PKY adult.

Please email me by this Friday (2/26) to let me know if you and/0r your student athlete plan to volunteer.

Practice Schedule 2/16-2/10

Changes to practice schedules this week: 

• Tuesday-sprints and distance GHS after school

• Wednesday-no practice

• Thursday-throws/sprints/distance GHS after school-Coach LaPlant in charge

• Friday-Day Off-No Practice for any squads-no athlete should go to GHS after school

• Saturday-9:00am whole squad UF track

T- Shirt Order Information

Hi Families,

Don't miss out on a chance to show your Blue Wave Track and Field spirit by purchasing a team T shirt today!

Athletes get a T shirt as part of their fair share. However if you want to purchase one or two or twenty here is how you can get one:

• Turn in your order to Coach Mrs. H via the front office with the following information: Student athlete's name, number of shirts you want with sizes, and a check made out to UF for $15/shirt that you order.

Don't delay we are going to place our first order next week 

and a final order towards the end of February.

Fair Share Information

There will be a fair share fee to participate in track again this season.

The fee is $100 and we use it to offset costs of uniforms, team shirts (and hoodies if we can!), equipment, travel, awards, banquet etc.

We are requesting that all athletes get their fee in by 2/26. 
 

Coach Tiffany has a fundraising opportunity that athletes can participate in to offset their fair share cost. We will be selling coupon books and receiving a $10 profit from each book. If your athlete is interested in fundraising please have them see me in the next week.

Please turn in checks made out to the University of Florida to the front office in an envelope with the athlete’s name and my name on it. 

Other coaches will not accept fair share. Please either give it directly to me or turn it in to the front office.

If a payment plan needs to be set up please speak to me directly.
